About

Two things I love are knitting and reading and my dream has been to make a living combining the two. Thus yarns was born: yarn for knitting and yarn for storytelling. I’d love somehow to make yarns my reality but until then this blog suffices. I’m currently working in Quito, Ecuador as the Summer Program Coordinator for a volunteer organization called World Teach. I hope that the new stimuli provided during this experience will inform future designs.

Additionally, I’ve been working on pattern design. Please check out my patterns for information and access to my designs.

  1. A woman after my own heart. I just wanna read/write and knit to my heart’s content (and somehow make a living doing it). glad to see there are others in the world who do too.

Dear Caryl (Kay): I am very impressed with your knitting, and have began to follow your blog. I have always known that you would be successful in whatever you attempted to do. Now, please design something unique and fabulous for a male shopper!!!! (smile) Lots of love to you and the family!!!!!!!!! Derrick

Love the Ruffle my feathers and purchased two skeins of String Theory to debate which will become this beauty. Can’t wait to get started.
